Honestly I just love to run, and I hope that I can do it the rest of my life..until the day I die!

K...this is really really gross! But it explains why I can't run for 1 week. I had a blister on my toe (no big deal right????) Well after it popped on my saturday run and then I went to Sand Hallow that day. FYI: Sand Hallow isn't the cleanest lake. I actually to the "Swimmer  Itch" there a few weeks ago. But even worse, I got some sort of bacteria in my blister. I woke up  Sunday morning and my toe was huge, swollen, tender. Monday morning I went to the podiatrist and he said he had to remove my toenail because he thought the infection spread to the root of the nail. Well it didn't spread (whew!), and he said I caught it early enough that it didn't get to bad. Anyway, He said no running for a week and I am on 2 diff antibiotics.....so crazy!

I am kinda depressed this week because I can't run or swim....I am hoping to bike this weekend. I did go to crossfit today and that was fun.....but i just love to run so much more!

got bike professionally fitted! Took over 4 hrs, they ( Dave @ Red Rock Bicycles) is very thorough! I am excited to ride on sat!

Worked all day. Able to squeeze in Crossfit @ 5am before work

WOD

AMRAMP (28min)---I was able to do 7 rounds

8 double unders (unbroken) or 24 singles (unbroken)---I opted for the singles....trying to save my knee!

5 windshield wipers

8 Spiderman pushups

then 3 rounds of-- knees to elbow, toes to bar, pull up (pull ups with blue band)

*this workout totally ripped up my hands from all the work on the bar. Thinking about getting gloves or something.....I just feel like a dork!

The following post is in tribute to Burt:

Today I road my bike the ironman loop (45 miles). It near done killed me. My bike so more comfartable to ride since my pro bike fitted. I did loop 30 min faster then usual! Best $ i spend in long time.

After, I run 5 miles. It different experence running after riding. It hot outside. I ran at 11am. Barely could keep pace under 9min/mile. I ain't got no water when I was running. Wish i brang some.

I was a good workout.....gettin nervous for Half ironman at end of month!

ran summit loop with Cheri. IT band hurting at end of run. Hope my new shoes are in this week! Also need to start stretching better and doing more yoga.  I won a free massage on facebook and am getting it today....hope that helps too!

rode bike 45 miles around IM loop with Cathy, Tige and Gwen. They did a track workout before the ride, so I was able to keep up a little better!

My IT band still kills, the free massage I got yesterday totally helped!  I need more of those more often!

 

Crossfit WOD

10 rounds of:

10 plank snatches both sides (10#)

10 spartan pushups (did they all unmodified until round 7)

150 meter run

 

Got new shoes today! yeah. I ran in them at crossfit and then walked to park with kids at night

ran 19 with Cheri and Court. Cheri's foot started to hurt around mile 3, so she ran back to the car. I wasn't to sure how far I was gonna run, because of my IT band. I made court run on the other side of the road so the slant wouldn't bug my knee. What a good friend! I brought my phone just incase I needed to bail, but I felt great pretty much the whole run. My knee started to barely bother me just before the finish....so I was happy!

Ran a good pace, but was still able to talk and carry on a conversation pretty much the whole way!

swam 1 mile at pool this morning with Peg. My knee still bugs from saturdays run, so thought I would just swim. 

I think I will do my knee/IT band rehab exercises today that I got from physical therapy instead of going to crossfit today!

run up snow canyon. We meet earlier than usual today because of some time constraints with a running buddy. It was a little scary. There was a parked car at the top of snow canyon that kept turning on and off his lights. We thought he drove past us slowly as well, but we couldn't be to sure. I was really feeling the run today, but after scary creepo guy, we decided to run together..and almost jumped and hid in the bushes a few times.....strength in numbers!

I need to start bringing my mace!

met Heidi and Courtney at the track for speed work. I was a little late so I missed a few of the 200's (darn!)....i was busy putting bandaids on all my toes!

k, so on sunday my 3 yr old (who by the way is a very 'solid' 3 yr old) was flushing stuff down the toilet and i grabbed him out of the way...anyway, i did the whole 'bend and twist' thing and my back got really strained. Just my luck!

So since I have that half ironman this weekend and I actually want to finish, i have been doing some major resting. I didn't work this week at all. I sent my kids to the babysitter anyway, so I wouldn't have to lift them. I went to the chiropractor 3 times and also had a massage! Wow, I feel exhausted just re-cooping! 

Anyway, I have felt pretty good this morning. My back just feels a little tweeked now, so I attempted 3 miles on the TM and did pretty good!

So, my plan this saturday is to just go REALLY SLOW (which won't be hard anyway!) & see how my back feels and just play it by ear....oh, ya and have fun!

Im not sure how it will go, since I have only done 3 miles.....but at least I know I can complete 3 miles of the 70.3......!

Holy Cow....I did it!

I did the Utah Half Ironman Tri on sat. My first Tri ever! The morning of the race I woke up cursing my husband for talking me into signing up for this! 

All I have to say is running after biking that long.....UUUGGGGGG!

I feel like I got a huge education in triathlons.......looking back now, there is so many things I would have done different.....live and learn.

I am however very please with my time. I had several goals and mini self accomplishments for me!

I wanted to do it in under 6 hrs! I wanted to do the bike portion in under 3 hrs! This is the furthest I have ever rode my bike in my life! First open water swim with other people kicking and clawing! Got to kiss my hubby on the run course (I know cheesy!)

My only frustration is I walked over half of the run course. The bike trashed my legs and it was super duper hot!

Also, my back and knee felt pretty good the whole time!
