Today I ran 9.5 miles with my good friend Joelle and a new friend Natalie. It was fun and at a fun pace. I think we were having to much fun taking our time, that I ended up running ahead to get home so my husband wouldn't be late for work. I actually got pulled over on my way home for speeding......Speeding in my car....I'm not that fast of a runner!:)
-I forgot to start my garmin (like usual) so Im not sure of my pace or exact time today, Oh Well!

| I ran the Hurricane Half today. It was my first time running it and it isn't easy! The 1st 7 miles are uphill as well as the last 3. I did better than I hoped though. I got 1hr 46 min and I was hoping for a 1hr 50min, so I was happy! My family came out to support me which was nice! |

Last night I tried to sign up for the Hobble Creek Half Marathon and it was already FULL. I was totally sad because I was really looking forward to it this year and can't believe its already full. Oh well, life goes on!! (I got paranoid that other races were going to fill up so I signed up for the Bryce Canyon half and the Provo River Trails Half Marathon last night!) |

Today was nice, I didn't have to go into work this morning because the hospital isn't very busy right now, so I was glad that I was able to run this morning. I am trying to run more and be more consistent, which I think might be easier now that I'm not running by myself as much because we have a bigger running group now and it is lighter later in the day. ---although I think my dog is sad that I am running with other people more than her :( I ran the 5 mile Virgin River loop with Cheri and Bruce. Then after i ran 4 more miles by myself since i didn't run at all yesterday

| Nice sunday walk with husband, baby and dog. we walked around the neighborhood and golf course. Its kinda funny because the last time we did this walk I was practically 9 months prego. I had to stop running around 6-7 months prego and did this walk almost everyday with my husband. Pregnancy does weird things to your body....don't really miss it! Also, we got a wind/sun shield for the jogging stroller and it was well worth the money! Before our baby would cry because the wind and sun was in his face, now it seems like he actually enjoys being in it!!!

| Ran with my friend Hollie today. Did the Marathon Coarse. She is a die-hard Marathoner/Triathlete. She is not only doing the Grand Slam this summer but also several triathalons as well. She is also doing the Iron Man. (If only I was that dedicated!-Im happy if I can fit in 5 miles a day sometimes!)......It was a nice run at a comfortable pace, my garmin died...not sure what wrong with it!!

Later went to church. Felt a bit guilty for running this morning because at church they talked about making sure just to do "sunday" activities on sundays, including no strenous exercise. However, I feel that it is hard for me (especially training for the marathon) because I work three 12 hr shifts during the week and usually cannot run on those days (unless I wake up at 3 am). | I had every intention of running on the treadmill everyday of the cruise, but I didn't!! I enjoyed sleeping in and just being plain LAZY!!! (and I totally loved every minute of it, I wish I had more self will like my husband, he actually ran 7 miles every morning on the cruise....I was like, who is this person!?....) :). I actually did run today on the treadmill, tried to make in 5 miles, but only did 3 :) Later that day we went swimming and snorkeling in the Bahamas! So georgeous, didn't want to leave!! |

| K, so we got back from our trip late at midnight. After picking up the baby and getting settled we finally got to bed at like around 2 am. Met Cheri and Shalyce @ 5 am to run 20 miles. Well, once we all started running we were all like lets only do 14. I was sooooo tired from traveling and lack of sleep and the fact I was still on "cruise time", I was all for it. I actually fell behind Cheri and Shalyce @ the end. (a week without running can really do it to you). They actually came and picked me up cuz I was pretty much just walking @ the end! (So I only did 13). Anyway, hopefully next week will be better after I get some sleep and actually run!! Avg pace 8:00ish

was suppose to work this morning, but got called off!!! yeah i love that. However, by the time they called me off, Cheri and the girls had already started running . I thought about driving around and trying to find them, I knew they would be running the marathon course, but my bed and pillow were calling my name!! anyway, I woke up around 6:45am. It felt soooo good to sleep in (its sad that, 6:45 is sleeping in for me!) I just ran the loop by my house with my dog Zowie. It was actually refreshing to get out with just me, my dog and my I pod!

| did yassos (800s) at PV highschool track with Shalyce. We did 5 of them, but wanted to do 7, the highschool football team and cheerleaders took over the track. At first we were like, "dude, we are running, cant you see", but then I realized that WE were the ones that didn't belong! It was kind of comical seeing the cheerleaders and football players interact with eachother! my knee was hurting this week, so I have been taking it easy. I decided to run 20 miles this morning & hoping and praying it would be ok. Ran with Cheri, Heidi, Court, Marci and her sister in law. We did the marathon course. It felt great until snow canyon area where the downhill got pretty steep. I was running and all the sudden my knee felt weird. I had to stop running so I only made it to mile 13...dang i am so sad :(. I then walked 2 miles until I caught a ride home from a random runner's dad who came and picked me up. Thanks to who ever you are!! I am going to see if I can get into the Dr on monday. I have been iceing it all day, so I guess we will see what happens. Cross your fingers!!! av pace while running 8:06

| k, i didnt run all week cuz my Left knee has been killing. I went to the ortho doc and he took xrays and they were fine...thank heavens, then he said it was prob just my IT band. He gave me a cortisone shot. I swear my knee has been hurting more since the shot, but I woke up today and it felt pretty good. I decided to go out and run and see what it feels like. It felt pretty good. a little sore, but I took it pretty easy. I made sure walk down all the hills etc. Im pretty happy that it wasn't too bad. Hopefully by next week Ill be back in the full swing of things. I wont lie, this week has been pretty posh not waking up early to run, i have kinda enjoyed my mini vacay. avg pace 9:00 |

| Well I was able to run 3 whole miles today. My knee is still bugging even after my cortisone shot, stretching, resting, & icing. Saw my Ortho Doc @ work and may have torn my meniscus....sniff sniff..... So I have just been trying to rest my knee.....and going CRAZY while doing it......who would have thought that sleeping in and watching TV all day would be sooo crappy. :( And to throw in an extra pity party for me, I was suppose to run the Gunlock 20 miler today, but i couldn't! (I let my running partner "Cheri" use my ticket to run....and she rocked it like usuall....woot woot!)--sorry I think that might be called banditing...but I guess we all got to live on the wild side once in awhile!!! :) anyway, I hope to still run the marathon, we will see how I feel this week! |

got results of my MRI today. No real biggies--just bad tendonitis. So i thinks im gonna try to do SG marathon. I got another Cortisone shot in knee today, so hope that helps. I haven't really ran in 6 weeks, but that was prob the best thing i could do for my knee! I don't really have any expectations....those are kinda down the drain now. I just don't wanna ride the bus down! Hee Hee......I think Im crazy sometimes!!

k so I am a bit sad or jealous or whatever you call it. I didn't run today, I thought that I really didn't want to do anymore damage to my knee and to rest it. I thought I was ok with it until I saw all the runners. However, on the flip side I LOVED being a spectator and cheering for everyone. I love to see all the sweat and tears and it brought tears to my own eyes. I was especially happy to see my hubby running. He decided yesterday to run (after I decided not to! yes he ran in my place...mostly because he didn't want to waste money....but also cuz he loves to run too!) I was excited for him, not sure of exact time but somewhere right around 4 hrs! yeah.... Anyway, there is always next yr and other races too! Congrats to eveyone that did it!!!!!

saw physical therapy today for knee pain. she massaged my L thigh to death to stretch out my IT band and also she used a plunger (looks like a mini bathroom plunger) and "plunged" my IT band, it help loosen it. Man it hurt so bad i Cried!!!! Now I have a huge bruise. NO pain No gain RIGHT??!! Also, gave me some strenghtening exercises...Wish I would have done this a month ago!!!

It was sooo good to talk to her and see how everything is goind and how the marathon went for her..she is so sweet and nice. I might try to run again with her tomorrow or try to catch a spin class. I guess I will have to see how my knee does the rest of the day Later, I did my exercises that the Physical therapist taught me...man they kill but I know they are good for me!!!!!

| i was going to wake up early and go to spin at the gym, but i slept in.. I was so glad it was such a nice day outside. I took RJ in the running stroller and Zowie (the dog) out for a little jog. I am still trying rest my knee like im suppose to....but i just miss running so much!! I took it slow 10+ min miles, but had a nice time getting out in the fresh air. Odd enough, this is the 1st day I have ran since my injury and absolutley NO pain or discomfort in my knee. Im sure it was because half the time I was walking.....but it still felt nice! |

I went at 9am (usually i have been going at 6am and there are like 5 people in the spin class) and I barely got a bike! yikes.. ran outside today with my little one in the jogging stroller and my dog. Did the loop by my house. Was getting pretty nippy out, not sure how much longer Ill be able to run with RJ outside?? It made me wish I were running with my friends again (miss you cheri), because I would wake up early and run and be back before ryan went to work, but I don't really want to run outside by myself that early!!...so anyway, that is my sob story :) On a positive note, my knee felt fantastic the whole time...(i don't want to jinx myselft though) As soon as I got done running, I had to get ready for my friend's (BFF to be exact) baby shower that I was throwing for her. She moved up North but most of our/her friends wanted to see her so she came down here so we could celebrate. It was so fun, I got to hang out with her and a few of my other friends. (We use to all be running buddies together, but many of them moved away etc) and it was good to reminisce about the "good " old days!!! Can't wait to get back to running with my new running buds!......miss u guys!

| meet cheri early this morning @ 5 am. Man it was cold out...I had to search down deep in my dresser to find my winter running clothes. (lately I have been running in the middle of the day with RJ and I still have been wearing shorts and tanks). But getting up early in the cold was soooo worth it. Ive missed running with cheri and my other friends. We just did a nice easy pace and talked and "caught up" on the last couple months. I slept in today! I love that, but I could only go for 2.5 mile run in real quick before I had to be home to get ready for my niece's wedding today. She was so beautiful & it was so good to seeall my family. My cousin just started running recently and wants to put together an all "family" team for that 50 mile st george relay coming up in dec 5th. He asked if I would be on his team, I think I will do it even though my knee hasn't been feeling too hot and I miss running with others etc etc. (and I was going to do the Vegas Marathon that weekend...so now I wont feel to sad about not doing it now that I can do this relay) I will only have to do two 5 mile legs....which Im sure my knee will handle. Im excited!!

| HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! we went up north to my home town (Brigham City, UT) to have Thanksgiving with my family. I love it up here! I ran the Peach Days 10k course with my husband. It was so much fun and I forget how beautiful it is up here. I loved running through all the leaves on the side walk and by the beautiful river and down main street. I got totally Nostalgic while running. This is the place where I fell in love with running. It is a lot different running up here than in St George. They don't have running trails and there is tons of trees, oh ya and its way colder!. I love the running trails down south and wouldn't trade them for anything....thats why I love St george so much, but it was also fun to just run around town up here seeing all my friends houses etc. Anyway, it was a good run and we cut off the peach days course a bit to run through the cemetery. K i know that sounds cryptic, but the cemetery here is so beautiful and in high school for cross country that is where we did all our speed workouts (again kinda weird!) but I loved it.....I decided that I'm going to come home next summer and run the peach days 10k.....I haven't done it since high school.. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Holiday!!!

ran 5 with cheri @ 5am. Had a guy that was sweeping the street follow us down the road in the parking lot (he wasn't sweeping the roads when he was following us...kinda going fast and driving a bit recklous) anyway, he did a big circle in the parking lot, then turned around...very creapy cleaning man!!! Not sure exactly what he was doing...prob just trying to scare us...but freiked both of us out! other than that it was a great run. Knee felt good. avg pace 8:47

Ran the SG 50 mile relay today! Not sure if I was up to it after working a 16 hr shift at work yesterday and not getting to bed until 1am (yuck)....but once I actually got out of my warm bed this morning and met my family....I was re-energized! We had an all family team, even Melody (cousin in law) came up from Vegas to run. I was a little scared cuz I didn't want to push it to much on my knee, but we weren't trying to break any records....just fun! I opted to do the shorter runs ( a 3 miler and a 6 miler) to be on the safe side. I was excited too because for the last few months anything faster than an 8:45 min/mile and my body felt like my knee is stabbing my leg to death! (maybe a bit dramatic!) anyway on the 3 miler my avg pace was 7:25 and 6 miler avg pace was 7:50! yeah and knee is great! (I think the adrenaline and endorphins were on my side!). Hope this good streak of absent knee pain continues!! I totally felt so out of shape though......seriously if you don't use it...you loose it! Right after we were done, we went and picked up baby from babysitters then hurried and got ready for my work Christmas party! I was kinda glad the party was same day of the run, because I knew there would be plenty of food and sinfully yummy treats to eat! The party was so fun, we did a white elephant gift exchange and I think I got the funniest gift.....I got a "President Obama Chi Pet" HA HA HA

ran 10 miles today with my hubby and cousin Jake who is visiting for Christmas from Miami. We did the snow canyon half marathon course, I had never done it before and it was so beautiful! I was nervous though that the down hill was going to hurt my knee more....At mile 10 my knee really was hurting and I walked and they ran the rest of the course and came back and picked me up. Even though I was a little bummed my knee hurt, i had to remind myself that 10 miles is the longest I have run since my injury and I am actually amazed I did it! yeah!!!!! avg pace 8:40ish
